Elodie Balme 2021 Côtes du Rhône

75% Grenache, 15% Carignan and 10% Syrah from 20-80 year old vines on gravel and clay soils.
The wine is a blend of many parcels of all ages. Hand picked and fermented by indigenous yeast for approx 10 days with one pump over per day before being pressed off to concrete vats for ageing. Very light filtration and tiny amount of sulphur at bottling. Powerful and perfumed wine with notes of blackcurrant, garrigue, warm black olives, dry earth and a touch of peppery liquorice. Delicious!
