Clos du Gravillas 2019 Lo Viehl

100% Carignan, Lo Vielh was the first wine made by Clos du Gravillas in 1999, from their first vineyard of old carignan vines, planted in 1911.
The fruit was well ripened, destemmed, fermented over 3 weeks on skins and was aged for 20 months, 12 of those in old barrels. A dark purple-crimson in colour. Complex vegetal aromas of olives combined with notes of toffee and cocoa. On the palate, bright and lively with well-balanced tannins and a hint of sweet fruits. The finish is lively and lingering with further black fruit notes.
