Meredith 2023 Big Fundamental Riesling

Notes from Meredith:
Big Fundamental is reference to my favourite basketballer of all time, Tim “Big Fundamental” Duncan. Playing during an era of flamboyant superstars like Shaq, Kobe and Allen Iverson, Tim quietly went about his business, playing textbook basketball whilst achieving both team and personal accolades throughout his career. Even though he ended his career with one of the most accomplished resumes including five championships, he is often overlooked as one of the games greats as he didn’t command the limelight and instead chose to quietly go about his business. It’s this same, underappreciated perception that we find our beloved friend Riesling has these days. Like Tim, it might not make the most noise or command the highest prices but in terms of bang for buck and pure deliciousness, there isn’t any grape that comes close to it.
